Red Sky Help Fight Homelessness and Poverty
Red Sky Foundation Joins Forces Once Again for CEO Sleepout to Help Fight Homelessness and Poverty
On Thursday, 6 November, Red Sky Foundation’s CEO Sergio Petrucci and members of the Red Sky family will join business leaders from across the North East for the CEO Sleepout, returning for a fourth year to the Stadium of Light to raise vital funds for charities tackling homelessness and poverty as well as Red Sky Foundation.
For one night, these leaders will swap their warm beds for the cold concrete, experiencing just a fraction of what thousands of people endure every night across our region. The event aims to raise awareness of the perils and challenges faced by those living in extreme poverty, while fundraising to support organisations working tirelessly to make a difference.
A Cause Close to Red Sky’s Heart
Poverty is not just about lacking shelter, it can lead to poor diet, addiction, and alcoholism, all of which can have devastating effects on cardiac health. That’s why Red Sky Foundation is proud to collaborate with CEO Sleepout UKonce again. Together, we’re raising awareness of how poverty can impact health and wellbeing, and why community support is so essential.
Speaking about the event, Sergio shared his thoughts after last year’s Sleepout:
“I really feel lucky to have a roof over my head, a nice bed and most of all the love and support from Emma, Enzo & Luna, family and friends I have around me. Taking part in CEO Sleepout really opens your eyes to what others go through every single day.”
Braving the Elements for Change
Last year, Red Sky supporter Graham also took part in the CEO Sleepout, enduring the fierce winds and rain of Storm Babet at the Stadium of Light. Reflecting on the experience, he said:
“Well, we all did it — slept from about 1:30am until 5am. A little bit of rain early in the night and woke up to howling wind around the stadium. Back, neck — well, full body — is aching, but we stayed warm. At least we were safe in this environment; I would hate to be really vulnerable on the streets in winter.”
Making a Difference in the North East
The North East has one of the highest rates of child poverty in the UK, and homelessness continues to rise. Events like CEO Sleepout bring communities together, uniting business leaders, charities, and individuals who care deeply about creating a fairer, kinder region for everyone.
By taking part, you’re not just raising money, you’re raising awareness, empathy, and hope. Together, we can drive real change across the North East.
